The sensation is perfect! JJ sings his way into the hearts of Europe with „Wasted Love“ and wins the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. With 258 points from the international juries and 178 points from the audience, he was crowned the winner in a thrilling voting ahead of Israel and Estonia. The 70th Song Contest will thus take place in Austria in 2026.

ORF Director General Roland Weißmann: „This love was not wasted; it reached all of Europe and was impressively reciprocated. We congratulate JJ on his fantastic performance and are proud to have accompanied him on his path to success, similar to Conchita Wurst. And so, the ESC will be hosted in Austria in its 70th year, just as it was during the 60-year anniversary ten years ago. Preparations begin immediately, and the excitement for this event is equally underway.“

ORF Program Director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz: „JJ, with your golden voice and nerves of steel, you have captivated the world and made an entire nation proud! I thank you from the bottom of my heart and look forward to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Austria.“

JJ: „I bring it home! The victory is more than I ever dared to hope for. It's truly a crazy feeling.“ Additionally: „I wanted the audience to feel how I felt when we wrote the song during my performance. It makes me very happy that people are reacting so positively to it. Love is never wasted; it is the strongest force in the world. We need it now more than ever.“
