Twelve top acts were in the running – now the audience and jury have made their decision and awarded the ticket to the world's biggest music competition: COSMÓ, with his title „TANZSCHEIN,“ won against strong competition today, Friday, February 20, 2026, on "Vienna Calling – Who sings for Austria?„ (starting at 8:15 PM on ORF 1 and ORF ON), the live show for the national selection, and will represent Austria at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in May in Vienna. COSMÓ shared his initial reactions and outlook at a subsequent press conference at the ORF Media Campus in the presence of ORF program director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz and the other “Vienna Calling" acts, among others, in front of numerous national and international press representatives.

ORF Program Director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz: „The majority has decided, the song convinced both the jury and the audience at home. And that is the essence of the Song Contest. I am very satisfied, very happy, and congratulate COSMÓ on this victory.“

COSMÓ with „TANZSCHEIN“ at the ESC

„I actually wrote the song for my mom because she would like to dance more. We have already danced to it in the kitchen together once or twice before I submitted the song to 'Vienna Calling'. That's why I want to compete for my mom and win at the ESC. Dancing is an international language, anyone and everyone can participate in any form. With dancing, I want to bring people together - just like the ESC motto 'United by Music'.“

19-year-old COSMÓ, who is competing in the ESC with the German-language pop song „TANZSCHEIN,“ was born in Hungary, grew up in Burgenland, and now lives in Vienna. His stage name represents his openness to the world and fascination with the universe. He plays guitar and piano and takes singing lessons from an opera singer in Graz. In 2022, COSMÓ reached the finals of „The Voice Kids.“ Since the summer of 2025, he has been working on his songs with his producer and Garish drummer Markus Pemer. Also in 2022, he founded the band „The Thumbs“ for live performances and studio recordings. COSMÓ has already performed at clubs, balls, and as a warm-up act at the „Starnacht am Neusiedlersee“ in Graz and at the Gasometer together with his coach Alvaro Soler. At the ESC, he wants to get the audience dancing with his music, inspire them, and spread love.

"Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich?" is still available on the official Eurovision YouTube channel (@EurovisionSongContest) and on ORF ON. All twelve songs can be found at songcontest.ORF.at and www.mein.orf.at/vienna-calling. The winning title can be accessed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPvJbGy5_o0&feature=youtu.be.
